Using a combination of advanced mesotherapy and PRP therapies is showing phenomenal results at Silhouette Aesthetic Centre not only in terms of improving skin moisture, radiance and texture and reducing fine lines and wrinkles but also the breakdown of cellulite and localised fatty deposits and a reduction in hair loss.
The Silhouette Aesthetic Centre has established its reputation in bringing new aesthetic procedures to Southern Africa and provides clients with technologically advanced anti-ageing solutions, body shaping, contouring, both minimally, and non-invasive, covering almost all aspects of the aesthetic spectrum. One of its most recent and noteworthy procedures is mesotherapy – a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that uses multiple injections of minimal amounts of drugs into the skin’s intradermal layer.
Mesotherapy targets the mesoderm, or middle layer of skin between the ectoderm and endoderm, from where all connective tissue originates. The medicine is therefore injected here for optimal results and usually consists of a polyvitamin cocktail i.e. a combination of vitamins, amino acids, coenzymes nucleic bases, minerals and anti-oxidants, the amount of which is determined by the injection site’s proximity to the pathology site. It is administered by meso-needling, or multi-pricking, with minimal pain and rapid action thus enabling it to cover large surface areas.
Studies have proven the successful effects of mesotherapy in terms of anti-ageing through enhancing skin radiance and hydration, as well as the improvement of skin tightening and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
Other uses of mesotherapy within the cosmetic field include the non-surgical amelioration of cellulite and localised fatty deposits. Remarkable effects have also been evident from hair rejuvenation mesotherapy, which is used to address hair loss (known as alopecia) and is based on the provision of vitamins that nourish and stimulate the hair follicle. Good indications for hair mesotherapy depend on the age and sex of the patient as well as the type and stage of alopecia – so while not necessarily a miracle cure for hair loss, mesotherapy certainly slows it down.
While mesotherapy on its own has proven to be extremely successful, the Silhouette Aesthetic Centre has taken this a step further and combines this with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments for even more superior results. The PRP treatment extracts and activates one’s own platelets, which is then re-injected into the targeted area where proteins, known as growth factors, are released and produce new collagen. The new collagen in turn promotes skin rejuvenation and accelerated tissue healing.
The combination of mesotherapy and PRP ensures that targeted areas benefit substantially, and naturally, from both treatments in a durable, non-surgical and results-driven way. By integrating these respective therapies, the Silhouette Aesthetics Centre continues to strive for advanced regenerative therapies that provide superior aesthetic outcomes.
