What was my experience?
I review a ton of skin care products, some are great, some are okay and some compliment my skin to a T. PauseAge is one of those ranges that my skin received incredibly well.
What did I think?
In the spirit of transparency, it’s important to know when revieiwng skin care brands I will never wax lyrical about how they took “10 years off my face” or “I no longer need anti-wrinkle injectables now that I’m using XYZ brand”. I’ll never say those things because skin care brands will never do what anti-wrinkle injectables, fillers, peels and lasers could do for your aesthetic appeal.
However, this doesn’t mean there’s no use for skin care brands. Before embarking on any aesthetic treatment your skin MUST be in great condiition to begin with if you’re to reap the maximum benefits of said treatments. This is the reason every Dermatologist, beauty and aesthetic therapist will slap you over the wrist for not taking good care of your skin at home – this includes cleansing daily, not sleeping with make-up on, morning and night moisturiser, using a sunblock, drinking water throughout the day etc.
Right, so now we’ve cleared that up – skinPhD, from my experience, had a massive love affair with my face. I’ve always been pretty consistent with a skin care regime, so cleansing, applying the serum and using the moisturisers was fairly normal for me. What I thought after using the products uninterrupted over two months was it’s a great quality brand that I would (and have already) recommended to friends within my age group. It’s also a range I personally wouldn’t mind spending money on annually because of how clear, plump and glowy my skin looked than it did before. I’m yet to have any anti wrinkle injectables, fillers or intensive peels – however, when I do, I’m assured my skin will be strong and ready for them.
What did I like about it?
There was a noticeable difference in the quality of my skin texture, so much that I recently received loads of unprompted compliments on how great my skin was looking. I also loved that I didn’t react badly to it, some brands are too “rich” for my skin and results in over-oiliness, over-dryness and the like.
Their pricing is also really good. They’re by no means cheap, but compared to what you could pay for skin care, PauseAge have really made themselves reasonable for such a high quality product.
Anything I didn’t like?
The day moisturiser would be even better with an SPF in it.
Who is it for?
PauseAge targets anti-ageing and mature skins. I’ve just turned 30, so it’s a great time for me to start upping the ante on my skin care products.
What does it cost?
Cellceutic Day Advanced Moisturiser – 50ML – RRP R530
Cellceutic Night Advanced Moisturiser – 50ML – RRP R570
Dermotox Anti-Wrinkle Serum – 50ML – RRP R420
Delicate Foaming Cleanser – 200ML – RRP R243
I’ve been using the products for two months and am just about halfway through them. These could easily last you four to five months.
