In layman’s terms, what makes The Laser Beautiques’ treatment pain free and different from other laser treatments is that conventional lasers use a high burst of energy and a “zap and move” treatment technique which stings. Most compare it to the feeling of an elastic band snapping on one’s skin.

With conventional lasers, the higher the energy, the more painful the sting and the better the efficacy. Therapists would try and treat clients using the highest energy to get best results for their clients. This is why, at a stage, laser treatments got a bad reputation for burning and scarring.

If one draws a boiling hot bath and dips in, they will burn, like conventional lasers. BUT if you get into a luke warm bath and gradually increase the temperature of the water, you can withstand even higher temperature without feeling any pain or discomfort.

Therefore, at The Laser Beautique, we can treat our clients more aggressively, yet painlessly and safely. This gradual treatment technique is the first of its kind to safely treat Asian, African and tanned skin types.

ELECTROLYSIS REINVENTED

Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for laser hair removal. If you happen to have blonde, ginger, grey or white hair, sadly laser will not be effective. If anyone tells you that their laser can get rid if non-pigmented hair, they are lying. Laser cannot and will not be effective on non-pigmented hair. But don’t despair, we have recommendations that’ll permanently remove every shade of stubborn hair.

For the ladies and gents who have been blessed with non-pigmented hair, we recommend Apilus Electrolysis treatments. Old school electrolysis devices are not recommended as they are not sophisticated like the new technology in the Apilus. Older devices are very painful and can cause scarring.

THREADING

If laser or electrolysis treatments are not for you, we recommend threading for unsightly facial hair. At The Laser Beautique we have trained threading experts.

Threading is a method of hair removal originating in Asia. In more recent times it has gained popularity in Western countries, particularly for removing/shaping eyebrows).

Threading has also become very popular as the go-to method of getting rid of unwanted fuzz fast. However, it is not comfortable and not permanent. Threading treatments should be done every 2-6 weeks depending on one’s hair growth.

Threading makes use of a thin cotton or polyester thread which is doubled and then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short lines of hair.

Benefits of Threading

It’s extremely sanitary. Nothing but the thread touches the skin, and it’s thrown away after use.
Great for people with ‘trouble’ brows. Threading has this amazing ability to be so precise in getting each hair it’s after. It has a cult following from those who say that other shaping methods, like tweezing, waxing, or sugaring, could not make their brows look even.
No chemicals are applied on the skin. Many have allergies and skin sensitivities, which make it a gamble anytime they put product on their skin. With a string, there are no chemicals or products used, and it can prevent a lot of unnecessary irritation. (Sometimes the tech will cleanse skin or apply powder before removing hair, so please alert them of any allergies.)
It’s very fast. Although every technician is different, it takes the person two minutes
Temporary results can turn into permanent. Over time, frequent threading can cause the hair follicle to become damaged and stop growing hair.

Areas that can be treated with threading, include the brows, chin, upper lip and full face.

WAX ON, WAX OFF

The Laser Beautique offers hot and cold wax for anyone who is head strong on not wanting to laser, have electrolysis or threading. We strongly recommend hot wax on the facial area as strip wax is too harsh on one’s delicate facial skin.

Take note that when one has a wax, their skin is being stretched. This is not ideal for skin elastin fibres and for anti-ageing. Every time the skin is stretched, it gets looser and eventually fine lines and wrinkles start to set in.

WARNING: NEW HAIR REMOVAL FADS

There are new and old devices that have been renamed and relaunched, from epilators to serums and lotions that one is told to apply before waxing to hand held, home laser and IPL devices. We recommend to stay away from these home products that companies are trying to sell you. They are not effective and you will only regret spending your money on a cream or machine that will land up collecting dust in your bathroom.
