Tanning, a how-to: behind beautiful bronze skin is a cellular and molecular mechanism complex. Pigment synthesis begins with an amino acid called tyrosine, which is catalysed by an enzyme. HOW DOES THE TAN-STIMULATOR COMPLEX WORK?

The target: melanin.

This pigment is well known for its beautiful bronzing properties, but its primary function of protection is often forgotten. Behind its role in producing a tan hides a powerful self-defence system. This is why skin cancers are more common in fair-skinned subjects. In fact, melanin is able to stop some of the sun’s rays by absorbing photons, dispersing their energy in the form of heat and trapping the free radicals formed by this reaction to come to your skin’s rescue.

Tan Stimulator Complex provides a double action: tan + protect to produce an intense and even tan while providing high protection.

A long-term tan appears after 3 to 7 days and reaches its maximum intensity after 10 to 28 days. It takes weeks or even months to disappear. It is this type of tan that is targeted by tan stimulator complex, which stimulates tyrosinase activity to trigger melanin production.

Tan Stimulator Complex enhances protection, by boosting melanin synthesis, preparing the skin for future exposure and reducing photo-ageing. As an added bonus, it protects DNA and fights skin inflammation. All without DHA self-tanners.
