About the Doctor
Dr Cobus van Niekerk
Dr Cobus heads up the Dr Cobus & Associates medical practice. He has a special interest in Aesthetic Medicine and Wellness but insists that medicine remains at the core of his Wellnessthetics practice.
Dr Cobus Graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1997. He got his BScMedScHons (Cum Laude) from the University of Stellenbosch in 2001. He has worked in the United Kingdom and worked in Emergency & Intensive care medicine. Dr. Cobus became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburg in 2007 whilst specialising in Emergency Medicine but decided to return to South Africa after 6 years abroad.
He is actively involved in the South African Medical Association (SAMA) and has been the Chairperson for the West Rand Branch for the past 3 years 2010 -2013. He has been an active member of the Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine Society of South Africa (AAMSSA) for the last 4 years. He was a founder member of the South African Association of Cosmetic Doctors (SAACD), and assisted with SAMA affiliation for AAMSSA as well as SAACD. Dr. Cobus is also a member of the American Association of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM) and attended the Congress in Miami at the end of 2012.
Dr Cobus is a recognised congress speaker, presenting on aesthetic medicine at educational congresses, Including the World Congress of Aesthetic Medicine 2013.
