In a healthcare landscape that often focuses on managing symptoms, Hormonal Health & Wellness Centre takes a broader, more personalised approach to patient care. Founded by Dr Simone Silver, the Cape Town-based practice combines functional and integrative medicine principles with an emphasis on understanding the unique biochemistry, lifestyle, and hormonal landscape of each individual patient.
Located at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, the multidisciplinary practice focuses on areas such as hormonal health, menopause, gut health, chronic fatigue, burnout, autoimmunity, lifestyle medicine, and preventative healthcare. The clinic’s philosophy centres around understanding the bigger picture behind a patient’s wellbeing, while creating a supportive and educational environment where patients feel informed and involved in their long-term health journey.

A clinic centred around understanding the individual
At Hormonal Health & Wellness Centre, consultations are intentionally designed to allow time for a deeper understanding of each patient’s lifestyle, stressors, dietary habits, genetics, health history, and wellness goals. Rather than approaching healthcare through a one-size-fits-all lens, the team focuses on creating personalised treatment plans that consider the interconnected nature of the body’s systems.
Combining conventional medicine with functional and integrative medicine principles, the clinic explores how hormonal, environmental, nutritional, psychological, and genetic factors may influence overall health and well-being.
This broader approach is applied across a wide range of concerns, including hormonal imbalances, chronic stress, burnout, gut health, chronic inflammation, metabolic health, peri/menopause, and lifestyle-related conditions.

Founded by Dr Simone Silver
Dr Simone Silver graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 2007 and later expanded her studies into the field of Functional Medicine. Her interest in interconnected body systems and personalised healthcare developed further through years of clinical experience and continued education.
After practising at the Integrative Medical Centre in Johannesburg, Dr Silver relocated to Cape Town in 2014 and opened Hormonal Health & Wellness Centre. Her areas of interest include hormonal imbalances, peri/menopause, chronic stress management, burnout, and autoimmune-related conditions.
Hormonal Health & Wellness Centre brings together a multidisciplinary team with interests spanning women’s health, gut health, metabolic health, preventative medicine, functional wellness, chronic illness management, and lifestyle medicine.
Dr Kate Klaasen focuses on gut health and disorders, functional nutrition, hormonal imbalances, and nutrigenomics.

Functional medicine, testing, and personalised treatment plans
Hormonal Health & Wellness Centre offers a range of consultations, investigations, and wellness strategies aimed at gaining a more detailed understanding of each patient’s health profile. Services include functional medicine consultations, peri/menopausal consultations, medical weight loss support, intravenous nutrient infusions, and personalised treatment planning.
Testing may involve pathology investigations through laboratories such as Lancet, Ampath, and Pathcare, alongside genetic and functional medicine testing designed to provide additional insight into metabolism, hormones, gut health, inflammation, and nutritional status.
Depending on the individual patient’s needs, treatment strategies may incorporate nutritional interventions, lifestyle changes, coaching, nutraceutical support, pharmaceuticals, and compounded treatments.

Common conditions treated
Common conditions treated at the clinic include hormonal imbalances, peri/menopause, chronic fatigue, burnout, stress-related conditions, thyroid disorders, gut health concerns, autoimmune conditions, metabolic health issues, weight management challenges, anxiety, inflammation, insulin resistance, and diseases associated with modern lifestyle patterns.
The practice also supports patients experiencing symptoms such as low energy, sleep disruption, mood changes, brain fog, digestive discomfort, weight fluctuations, PMS-related symptoms, irregular menstrual cycles, and difficulties navigating hormonal transitions.
Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, the team takes an integrated approach that considers how factors such as stress, nutrition, sleep, hormones, inflammation, genetics, and environmental influences may interact and impact overall well-being.

A strong focus on menopause and hormonal health
Hormonal health and menopause support form a significant part of the clinic’s focus. Dedicated peri/menopausal consultations aim to guide women through hormonal transitions while exploring both hormonal and non-hormonal management options tailored to the individual.
Consultations may address symptoms such as hot flushes, sleep disruption, mood changes, memory concerns, PMS-related symptoms, hair loss, menstrual cycle changes, and weight fluctuations, while also considering long-term health and well-being.
In addition to consulting patients, Dr Simone Silver regularly presents educational talks, workshops, and keynote presentations focused on hormonal health, functional medicine, stress management, burnout, menopause, and wellness optimisation.
Dr Silver also offers tailored speaking engagements for both small groups and larger corporate organisations, with presentations customised around specific wellness themes and audience needs. Topics may include chronic stress and burnout management, hormonal health, workplace wellness, “the chemistry of calm”, and broader conversations around the evolution of health and wellness.

A calming wellness environment in Cape Town
Hormonal Health & Wellness Centre reflects the calming and wellness-focused philosophy seen throughout the practice. The space combines modern interiors, natural light, contemporary finishes, consultation rooms, and supplement dispensary areas designed to create a welcoming and comfortable patient experience.
At its core, the clinic’s approach focuses on helping patients feel more empowered, informed, and supported in their long-term health journey.
