It’s always exciting to be able to try brands that we’ve heard or read about, especially if they have had success or accolades abroad. So, when Timeless Skincare landed in South Africa, I was determined to try their super seller, Timeless 20% Vitamin C+E+Ferulic Acid Serum.
Do the ingredients sound familiar? If you’ve been reading up about the best skincare ingredients, then I’m sure they do.
If not, well, in a nutshell, Vitamin C is one of the gold standard ingredients for brighter, luminous skin. Ferulic Acid is a powerful antioxidant that also keeps Vitamin C stable as well as enhancing penetration through the outer skin layer.
Timeless Skincare products are manufactured in Southern California – CEO and co-founder Veronica Pedersen wanted to produce products that were effective, but yet affordable, with fewer chemicals, paraben-free formulas, high concentrations and no fragrance.

Timeless 20% Vitamin C+E+Ferulic Acid Serum
As the name suggests, this serum is formulated with a very high concentration of L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) and if you’re new to this ingredient, I would start slowly – perhaps use on alternate days, so that your skin can adjust to it.
The Ferulic Acid boosts the antioxidant properties of Vitamin C and also stabilizes it, as Vitamin C oxidises easily.
The packaging is opaque, minimising this risk. It’s also gorgeous! However, once you open your bottle, use it up and make sure you store it in a cool, dark place or in the fridge.
The benefits are truly notable:
Three weeks of use and you’ll see a definite brightening of skin tone. I use my Vitamin C serum in the morning, as I prefer to use retinol at night, but apparently, you can use this one morning and night if you like.
Hyperpigmentation fades (I had a few freckles from my summer holiday and now my skin is looking more even).
Your collagen production is enhanced with the addition of a Vitamin C serum. This one contains Hyaluronic Acid, so the skin looks dewy and hydrated.
Remember that there is no fragrance, so you get to smell the ingredients – and Ferulic acid is not Chanel No.5. It’s lightweight, absorbs like a dream and plays nicely with makeup.

Timeless Coenzyme Q10 Serum
This is a lovely addition to layer on straight after your Vitamin C serum – also a powerful antioxidant, Co-Q10 protects the skin from pollution, preventing accelerated signs of ageing.
It’s a pale-yellow formula, a little thicker than the Vitamin C, but penetrates well and contains Matrixyl 3000, which is a peptide that stimulates collagen production. Hyaluronic acid keeps the skin looking dewy – there’s not a lot here that you cannot like!

Matrixyl S6 Serum
My nighttime skincare routine involves prescription Tretinoin (a generic name for synthetic Vitamin A) which is the most powerful anti-ageing ingredient backed by clinical trials. It does have a tendency to dry the skin, leading to peeling, so the Matrixyl S6 serum layered on afterwards is ideal.
It has a viscous texture, feels lovely on the skin and absorbs quickly.
It contains Hyaluronic acid, which again makes the skin look plump, Aloe Vera extract which soothes, as well as the humectant, Glycerin – all good for hydration.
The active ingredient, Palmitoyle Tripeptide-38, is said to boost the production of 6 major components of the skin matrix, which results in even skin and a minimizing of fine lines.

Bottom Line
Obviously, you don’t have to rush out to buy all three, unless you have the budget. Look at the range and see what appeals to you, according to your skin needs.
