WELCOME TO SACIM 2021
I would like to welcome you to this, our 3rd International Conference on Integrative Medicine. Originally planned to take place at Spier wine estate, a lovely heritage farm near Cape Town, in May last year, we have taken the decision to go 100% virtual.
Our international environment is still too uncertain to plan any face-to-face events this year. We know that a big benefit of attending conferences is the networking that goes on between the lectures! However, our platform provides wonderful opportunities for networking, chatting and “e-meeting” new colleagues, which we hope you will enjoy and of which you will make full use.
When we decided on our theme of “Integrative Solutions to Current Crises of our time”, we realised that there are so many crises that we deal with in our practices, that we could not cover them all. We have invited a selection of speakers from around the world to address some of these issues.
IMMUNITY & ENERGY
In the Immune section, while we feel it is important to discuss Covid-19, as THE most important crisis of our current time, we try not to rehash what everyone already knows. We hope there will always be something of interest to learn about this puzzling pandemic.
NEUROLOGY
The effects of stress on our brains and nervous systems are huge, and from autism to dementia, no age is excluded in the Neurology section.
ELECTRO-MAGNETIC RADIATION
Anyone who has his/her eyes open will be increasingly concerned about the increasing levels of exposure we are being subjected to by cellphone radiation, WiFi and now 5G. The satellites being launched into space will ensure that nowhere on the planet will be without. More and more people are becoming “canaries in the mine” by suffering the effects of exposure. The EMF section hopes to highlight these dangers.
CANCER
Cancers have been a plague for a long time, but seem to be increasing in frequency in recent years. Our speakers explore some novel issues in this regard in the Cancer section.
ENVIRONMENT
Never mind the radiation, we still have to deal with thousands of other toxins in our environment, food and water. How do we become resilient, in spite of these? Hopefully, you will find some answers in the Environment section.
We are running two parallel streams of presentations. The idea is to listen to the one now, knowing you have 30 days in which to listen to all the others. So, you actually get the added value of two conferences for the price of one.
