With skincare trends moving towards sourcing more natural, plant-based ingredients, it’s always quite ironic to discover that certain brands that have stood the test of time have been doing it brilliantly for many years.
One brand, in particular, Dr. med. Christine Schrammek, a family-owned business based in Germany, has its roots firmly entrenched in using the power of plants to create an effective skincare range dedicated to combating the signs of skin ageing. They have been doing this for more than 60 years.
The brand targets all skin types, but I specifically wanted to delve into the Ageless Future Range, recommended for age 50+, as well as 2 products from the Time Control Range.
They contain wonderful peptides and antioxidants which protect the skin, preserve its elasticity, and strengthen collagen fibres.
Now that all sounds fabulous, but what interests me more are the clinical trials that have enabled the brand to make these claims. In fact, studies were done on menopausal women who showed strong signs of energetic ageing and the results (after 56 days) show a remarkable reduction in wrinkle depth and an improvement in skin strength as well as thickness and elasticity.
I have tried the Ageless Future Day & Night Creams, Time Control RetiNight Essence and a sublime serum, the Hyaluron Performance Serum. These products all contain 4 main ingredients: Bakuchiol (natural Vitamin A alternative), Olea Vitae (plant stem cells of olive) Red clover (antioxidant effect) and Horsetail, one of the oldest plants in the world. It’s effective in stimulating the skin’s metabolism, which is crucial for ageing cells.
The Day Cream is fresh and light and counteracts the main factors of ageing. a beautiful Day cream to use which absorbs like a dream and is lovely under a light BB cream or foundation.

I was advised to alternate the Night Cream with the Time Control RetiNight Essence and as I have normal skin, this worked well for me. The Night Cream is also surprisingly light in texture and packs a punch with its beautiful combination of active ingredients in addition to soothing oils like almond, Marula and Shea butter to smooth tired skin.

There is no mistaking the power of retinol use on the skin – I have been using it for years. Time Control RetiNight Essence is a superior way of using retinol, without irritation, just absolute pleasure. Lightly scented from its luxurious ingredients, after 2 weeks of use my skin looks really smooth and radiant in the morning – this product did not disappoint.
I love that the directions for application include face, neck AND cleavage – a great tip for ageing skin as we tend to focus solely on the face.

I had a Dermapen (microneedling treatment) scheduled during the weeks that I used the Dr Schrammek products and a day post micro-needling the Hyaluron Performance Serum was a balm to my inflamed skin. I asked my Doctor if I could use it and once she had cast a beady eye on the ingredients list, she gave the green light. As I have mentioned, my skin is not sensitive, so be cautious as this product contains a touch of fragrance (which makes it smell divine).

All in all, a lovely and pleasurable range to use for mature skin that deserves to regain its radiance, smoothness and firmness – results are clinically guaranteed.
