Although highly visible and prone to the effects of ageing, you no longer need to worry about your neck, jawline or double chin giving away your age. A non-surgical solution to enliven these areas is at hand, writes Dr Alastair Clark.
The neck and double chin may not be top of the list of aesthetic requirements at first, but they are indeed key to ageing gracefully. For many, the neck often unwittingly showcases unwanted visible age, as well as betraying other more common aesthetic corrections. Regardless of your complexion and facial aesthetics, an ageing, tired neck and/or double chin can add years to your appearance, negatively impacting your self-confidence.
Age-related sagging in the lower half of the face, jawline and upper neck is the main culprit leading to a lack of definition. The key to correction for the neck and jawline, and for most body-shaping requirements, is about rejuvenation at a cellular level to lift and tighten the skin by stimulating a healing cascade.
Non-surgical neck rejuvenation
At our practice, we utilise a non-invasive, non-surgical tool that is highly effective in the restoration and lifting of sagging skin. And while it may be used on various body regions, the platform is suitable to treat delicate neck skin and the double chin, as well as lifting the jawline.
Putting non-surgical lifting procedures to the test
The lifting of skin by simply utilising non-surgical laser technology is not a novel concept. Indeed, this procedure been well documented over the years, due to its proven safety, efficacy and satisfying outcomes. Yet the big question remains: how does it work? Well, truth be told, the secret behind the success of this particular treatment modality really lies within the inner workings of this machine. This is because its advanced technology enables it to reach a specifically targeted temperature within the skin, which, in turn, triggers the stimulation of fibroblasts, boosts new collagen production, and increases the metabolism of fat.
Post procedure
Following treatment, skin will show improved elasticity, shape and tone, with cellular benefits that include:
- Increased blood flow
- Improved skin texture
- Restored skin elasticity
- Reduction in visible lines and creases
Body treatments that use skin-lifting technology
The combination of IR, RF, massage and suction techniques may additionally be used for body shaping, thereby offering additional non-invasive treatments traditionally reserved for surgery, such as:
- Fat reduction – by stimulating lymphatic drainage, it is possible to target small pockets of stubborn fat. This is a great option to eradicate diet-resistant fat without resorting to liposuction
- Body shaping – the fat reduction and skin lifting benefits are used successfully to create body shape (i.e. contouring the thighs or buttocks)
- Treating cellulite – an incredible bonus of this triple technology is the effect it has on breaking down cellulite. The suction and massage are key to reducing visible cellulite and eradicating fat cells.
In closing
Multiple sessions are recommended for optimal results, with groupings of six sessions proving most advantageous for the complete outcome. It is wonderful to know that your double chin or sagging neck no longer needs to betray your visible age, and that non-surgical treatments do, in fact, exist.
