In the heart of Sandton, Sonette works with plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr Anton Potgieter. Here they offer a variety of aesthetic treatments from fillers to botulinum toxin injections to chemical peels which are corrective therapies. In the practice, Sonette performs the chemical peels which corrects skin concerns such as acne, the signs of ageing and hyperpigmentation. Once the desired results have been achieved a maintenance program will kick in. Dr Potgieter does a variety of surgical procedures and these aesthetic therapies merely add value to his patients.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels have been around for many years and has proven an effective treatment to correct skin damage. Here at Skin iD, Sonette offers chemical peels to correct the signs of ageing, hyperpigmentation and acne.

All chemical peeling treatments are preceded by a consultation whereby the client’s skin concerns will be discussed and to determine whether the client is suited to have a chemical peel. A pre and post home care routine will be prescribed in conjunction with the chemical peels for optimum results.
Expected Results
Minimise fine lines and wrinkles. Refine skin texture from rough to smooth. Remove skin discolouration, i.e. age spots/ liver spots, Melasma and pigmentation caused by sun exposure. Brighten the skin appearance. Stimulate collagen production for a more youthful, firm looking skin. Removal of blackheads. Clearing of bumps and inflamed pimples, leaving you with a clear, radiant skin.
Currently Sonette is using the chemical peels from the Dermaceutic range which includes Hydroxy Acid peels (30% – 50%) and TCA peels (12% – 20%). She also prescribes the Dermaceutic pre and post home care. Added to these results orientated products she also offers the Oxygentix Foundation and Moisturiser which were designed for immediate application after any medical aesthetic procedure to speed up skin healing and calm inflammation.
Small token of appreciation
The 60 minute consultation costs R450 which is redeemable towards the client’s first peel. Who is Sonette
Sonette Donker is the owner of Skin iD and she is an internationally qualified professional skincare therapist. She has worked in the professional skincare industry for almost 20 years now. Having worked for companies such as Dermalogica, Nimue Skin International, Skin
Rejuvenation Technologies and pHformula. She has gained valuable knowledge on skincare, cosmetics, cosmeceuticals and medical aesthetic skin treatments.
She enjoys training doctors and staff working in the medical aesthetic industry on chemical peels. She has travelled the world presenting at congresses, press events and medical conferences. She loves working with the press on a daily basis sharing information for articles.
She is passionate about chemical peels and how it affects the skin in a positive manner and is now dedicating her time to help correct people’s skin concerns and living her dream.
