I was kindly invited to the Environ Skin Care Institute in Johannesburg to experience this technologically advanced Focus-On Filler Treatment and try the 3DSynergé™ Filler Crème (for home use) and was anticipating a natural-looking, plumping enhancement to my face, without feeling any pain during the 30 minutes.

My face was cleansed gently, followed by the application of the Environ Dual Effect Filler Serum (performed by my wonderful therapist, Marlize, who massaged this formula into my skin via a small sonophoresis probe). This was the Electro-Sonic DF Technology, which felt quite warm and tingly, yet not at all uncomfortable.

Marlize explained that while the treatment can be targeted on different areas, she thought the best areas indicated for me were under and around my eyes, as well my cheeks.

During the treatment, it felt as though my skin was getting a good workout. The salon-strength serum contains OptimHyal™ (responsible for hydrating skin cells while stimulating the natural production of hyaluronic acid), Adifyline® peptide (which increases fatty tissue volume in the desired areas), as well as Reproage™ peptide (a solution that contributes to an improved appearance of mature skin).

Post-treatment

Afterwards, a moisturising mask was brushed onto my skin and left to set. Once done, it was peeled off like a rubber mask, leaving my skin soft and hydrated. The final step was a layer of moisturiser, then a quick spray of the Environ Anti-Pollution Spritz, and I was good to go!

Results

A couple of hours later, my skin still looked pretty good and really glowy, so I was pleased with the outcome. It’s also a really affordable treatment: perfect if your skin is dehydrated, no matter how much water you drink during the day.

Author’s thoughts

If you are impressed with the overall outcome that dermal fillers have on skin rejuvenation, then this facial is perfect for keeping your skin radiant in-between procedures (which, incidentally, does not dislodge any well-placed fillers).

However, if you are not into needles, then the Focus-On Filler Treatment is a great alternative (albeit isn’t a replacement nor will it give the exact same results) – a treatment that offers both a wonderfully relaxing experience and a glowing complexion thereafter.
