On Friday, 7 November, we were among some of the top Doctors in South Africa for the launch of Silhouette Soft at Genop Healthcare headquarters.
SILHOUETTE SOFT®, a facelift procedure using a unique suture based, minimally invasive procedure for a redefined face, restored volume and reduced wrinkles.
Over the last decade the number of people wanting less invasive cosmetic procedures has increased substantially. For those people not wanting open surgery or a general anaesthetic and a faster recovery time, face and neck lifts using suture lift techniques is an option.
At first sutures, or threads, were developed with barbs on them to stop them moving and to provide traction but the results were disappointing. Results were lop-sided, didn’t last very long and the threads broke. After one month there was not much traction so tightening was not evident.
A suture was then developed where resorbable cones, instead of barbs, were inserted between retaining knots on a polypropylene suture. SILHOUETTE SOFT® threads were developed from this and they require no surgical procedures.
The unique SILHOUETTE SOFT® threads are the only ones available with bidirectional cones which are reabsorbed, on polylactic acid sutures for a non-painful, minimally invasive alternative to the more invasive anti-ageing treatments.
SILHOUETTE SOFT® works in two ways – firstly it has a lifting action which is immediate and discreet. After inserting the suture, your doctor will apply slight pressure on the treated area reshaping the surface of the skin and making it visibly smoother. Secondly there is also a regenerative action which is gradual and natural. Once the suture has been applied the polylactic acid acts on the deeper layers of the skin and this helps to increase the volume of the sagging areas, restoring shapeliness to the face gradually and naturally. Results will last for up to 18 months.
The procedure using SILHOUETTE SOFT® is a 30 minute treatment, performed in the doctor’s office, under local anaesthetic without sedation and the recovery time is the same as it would be for fillers or anti-wrinkle treatment.
