I’ve been prone to skin sensitivity and rosacea my whole life. Instead of fussing over it, I made a conscious effort to learn more about the conditions and manage them properly.
My first stop was appreciating my skin barrier. If it’s compromised, I can expect dryness, breakouts, flakiness, irritation, or a rosacea flare-up. Texture also plays a huge role in telling if my skin barrier’s in trouble (in other words, it’s a bumpy road ahead). I won’t even pick up a moisturiser that doesn’t promise my skin barrier the world, and Environ’s latest revamp didn’t disappoint.
First impression
Having tried out the Environ Overnight Glow Kit six months ago (read my review here), I was no stranger to the sleek, slender packaging of the Focus Care range.
Environ’s Focus Care Moisture+ Vita-Complex Super Moisturiser has a silky, soft formula with a medium, rich texture that isn’t overbearing. It absorbs quickly, leaving a slight sheen on the skin that gives off a healthy glow. Two to three pumps of the dispenser give you enough moisturiser to apply evenly over the face and neck. My skin drank it right up.
Same formula, but better
This product isn’t a newbie. It’s been a crowd favourite for a decade already. The much-loved formula – consisting of emollients, humectants, moisturisers, antioxidants, and vitamins – has been enhanced even more to ensure your skin barrier stays as healthy as possible throughout severe weather conditions, stress, and illness.
My verdict
My skin feels suppler, plumped up, and less red (as you can see by the before-and-after pics). The irritation has subsided tremendously, meaning a smoother texture and – dare I say it – a more youthful appearance and happy skin barrier. This moisturiser slotted in well with my daily routine and worked seamlessly with my foundation. Here’s an important FYI: be sure to apply a separate sunscreen, as this moisturiser doesn’t contain SPF.
Try this moisturiser if…
You experience skin sensitivity during the seasonal changes. Regular application will help keep your skin barrier intact by adding an extra layer of protection and maintaining hydration levels. It can be used twice a day, morning and night, on cleansed skin.

Kelli’s no stranger to the beauty biz, with this being her thirteenth year in the industry. She’s got over 100 issues of FAIRLADY Magazine under her belt, where she worked her way up from Beauty Intern to Beauty Editor. She had two loves – beauty styling, along with beauty writing but the main reason for her putting pen to paper each issue was the community she built – full of fellow beauty enthusiasts, sharing everything from their favourite fragrances to their skincare woes. Since leaving FAIRLADY in 2018 to pursue her own business of beauty content creation, consulting, social media management and more, she’s had the honour of working with both local and international brands, creating successful, personalised workshops in the makeup, skincare and fragrance space. She currently manages the marketing of some of SA’s most loved beauty brands and freelances for glossy Modern Beauty, Edgars Beauty Hub and Benefits Magazine. And now, she gets to add Aesthetic Appointment to her proud list of accomplishments.
