About SADPAS
A NEW society founded in 2015, called South African Dermatology Physician Assistants Society (SADPAS) is a subgroup of The Dermatology Society of South Africa (DSSA).
The official unveiling of The South African Dermatology Physician Assistants Society (SADPAS) was at The Dermatology Society of SA Annual Congress 2015 – Champagne Sports Resort Drakensberg, South Africa.
The most important constitutional objective of The Dermatology Society of South Africa is to promote the science and practice of dermatology in order to optimise patient care by providing continuing education and networking opportunities for its members.
However, when patients consult a dermatological practice, they engage with other members of the dermatologist’s “dermcare team” who also contribute towards optimising their dermatologic care. The education and training of these physician assistants has been left to the individual dermatologist, but, it is time for a paradigm shift.
Dermatologists will enhance their practice profile by enrolling their dermatology physician assistants with SADPAS. The premier educational experience for professionals committed to excellence in cosmetic, aesthetics and physician assistants dermatology procedures.
Dermatology physician assistants are defined as professionals who care for dermatologic patients and have direct patient contact. SADPAS members will have educational opportunities for professional development resources, latest research findings needed to provide high-quality care to patients they serve and access to educational and networking opportunities.
SADPAS is about working together with dermatologists to make a difference in patient care throughout South Africa.
